Functions
The Hibiscus Coast Municipality Protection services Department provides a traffic enforcement programme responsible for:
- Investigation and implementation of scholar patrols
- Educational programmes – Child Traffic Programs
- Identification of engineering problems e.g. road markings and traffic signs
- Attending motor vehicle collisions
- Assisting with volume counts
- Incident management of national routes
- Community participations with regard to traffic matters
- Co-ordination of speed enforcement programmes
- Participation with Provincial departments such as the Arrive alive Campaign
- Assistance with special functions
- Assistance with specialised events at mayoral and ministerial level
- Community driven awareness campaigns
- Pedestrians education programmes
- Extending patrols into the rural areas for visibility and education programs
