HCM Honours Fallen Heroes and Heroins of KwaXolo Area

The Hibiscus Coast Municipality has honoured local fallen heroes and heroins of the area of Gcilima and Mvutshini by unveiling Memorial Monuments. The event was held on 26 February 2012 and was blessed by the presence of the Speaker of the KZN Legislature Ms Peggy Nkonyeni, General Bheki Cele the Police National Commissioner, KZN MEC for Human Settlement and Public Works, Hibiscus Coast Municipality Mayor Her Worship Cllr Nomusa Mqwebu, Inkosi Xolo of KwaXolo and other invited esteemed guests.

The Hibiscus Coast Municipality erected Peace Monuments in Gcilima and Mvutshini with lists of names of fallen local men and women who were regarded as being in the forefront of the struggle in the late 80s and early 90s. The MKMVA paid a special tribute and respect for these heroes and heroins during this well attended event.
